Aluminum Extrusion

Extal has two of the most advanced extrusion lines, for production of aluminum profiles.

Three years and million's were invested in our 4000-tonne press, and with it comes our state-of-the-art production line, one of the most modern in the world. We can extrude profiles with a diameter of up to 350 mm or 14”. The production process is fully automated and controlled by a sophisticated computer program. Only three people are needed to oversee the process due to the highly automated control panel system. The raw material is heated to temperatures of 440°- 480° C (825°-900°F) depending on the type of billet and alloys. The die is heated to a temperature of 460° (860°F) in order not to affect the temperature of the raw material as it passes through. A hydraulic press with a force capability of 500-700 MPA rams a cylinder that forces the raw material through the die and a new profile is made. When the profile comes out of the press, it can undergo various cooling processes. These processes can give the profile different levels of strength and elasticity, depending on the customer's specifications and ultimate objectives, as set out during the contract review.
